Nerre, Aj
det är nog väldigt väldigt dålig med text då nästan allt är från 80talet.
Säter,
HAND SCRAPING * 1/2 MOON OIL FLAKING * BIAX POWER SCRAPING * MACHINE REBUILDING SEMINAR
To be held in South Sweden this summer!
8-12 hours per day
Taught by: Richard King of King-Way Scraping Consultants
“Have you ever wanted to learn how to Hand-Scrape? Now you will get your chance. A Home Shop Owner has volunteered to host a class in his shop.
Learn to hand scrape, Biax power scrape, hand-flake, power-flake with BIAX, align machine components, put on way material and other aspects of machine rebuilding. Students can scrape on projects that they bring themselves. See photos of earlier classes. You are welcome to bring a lathe compound, small mill or grinder table or the host will supply a project for you to work on, it might be a Bridgeport, lathe or straight edges. It is easy to learn to scrape a flat bar. I have always said "It's easy to learn to scrape, but knowing where to scrape and knowing how much to take off is a trade."
After you sign up and send your down payment I will send you the Homework Package and DVD that you need to read and watch. In class, we will greet with a short lecture and then start by hand scraping on a 1" x 4" x 10 cast iron bar I will furnish for you to use. After you learn to hand-scrape I will show you how to hand-flake, then If you’re interested in learning how to use the BIAX scraper and Flaker we will rescrape the cast iron bar using the Biax Power equipment. We will have some Biax Scrapers that we can share or if you have one bring it with. After you learn to Power Scrape and Power 1/2 moon flake we will glue a piece of Turcite* or Rulon* to the bar and scrape it. These products are used on many new machines and can also be used to repair a worn machine or gib. We will discuss and use a spirit level and a King-Way Alignment gage ( my Dads invention) to level and align a machine, scrape the ways of a small machine, discuss in a Q&A session how to rebuild lathes, surface grinders, milling machines, how to straighten and a scrape a gib, where and when to 1/2 moon oil flake and many other "Tricks of the Trade" of Machine Tool Rebuilding. ...My background is; I am a Journeyman Machine Tool Rebuilder / Builder. Taught how to hand scrape by my Dad in the 1960's In 1984 I started teaching scraping at GM and now taught at 8 divisions of GM, Rolls Royce, Cumins, John Deere, USA Naval bases, taught at over 40 new machine builders, etc. in the USA and around the world. I have taught over 12,000 students in all these years. You can bring along your own part to scrape on too as long as it is small and you can lift it yourself. In the past other students have brought lathe compounds, milling machine tables, straight edges.”
Price for 3 days 750-900 USD. Possibility for 2 extra days: price 200-250USD per extra day. Exact prices depending on arrangments
